And wow the power trip of that head of department. I swear this shit only happens to women. We're always expected to pick one or the other. Motherhood OR career OR Education. And it's always some ain't shit man acting like if you don't do what HE is offering you, your whole life is gonna be a big pile of shit. I'm happy for Laura that she proved his shitty ass wrong.

I was thinking this sounded outrageous, but UCLA School of Arts also fucked me when I applied. My portfolio was rejected, so that was it. No UCLA. Had the grades, had the scores.
UC Irvine also fucked me. A very stupid girl cheated off my final exam in Linguistics, by not just copying my work, but also copying my ESSAY response word for word. The professor doubted me when I said I did not let her look at my final, because she noticed I was sometimes tutoring the other students. It was a very small class, and I was the only person getting 100% on the diagramming work. So a lot of them were openly cornering me before and after class for help.
She wrote the Dean, and they decided maaaaybe I was telling the truth, because stupid girl had a failing grade leading into the final, and I would have had a 100% A.
Dean removed my honors at graduation and scolded me that I should be grateful I wasn't expelled.
All this to say, of course a smug piece of shit went after her. Academia is truly "those who can't, teach" and every molecule of Laura ( ... )
