because it's being talked about again... matthew macfadyen talking about how the famed darcy hand flex in pride & prejudice (2005) was born out of him improvising it during rehearsal, and the director, joe wright, noticing it and including it in the film. lives were changed. pic.twitter.com/7G0re0rPQm

At least he only felt miscast. There are some actors who just straight up ARE miscast and then it's a whole 'nother story. He was great, he shouldn't be so hard on himself. It could have been worse!
(eta since I've been thinking of him this week because of the old guard/that odyssey remake coming out, my example of actors who ARE miscast is obviously marwan kenzari in aladdin, so matthew, don't feel so bad, there's your example of could have been worse LMAO)

idk what happened because someone at DC saw Marwan in Aladdin (for all I know, idk what really happened) and said, "He'll be a perfect villain in Black Adam!" Spoiler alert: he wasn't lmao. Dude can't catch a break.
Also I haven't seen The Lion King, but Chiwetel as a villain is also... Ehh... He's played them a lot but none of his attempts really work for me. Except maybe Children of Men.
