No matter how problematic Madonna is, I highly doubt she's the type of person who doesn't take care of her children. I can't assume anything but nah.

It sounds more like he's a teen with a newfound freedom and wants to experiment with being away from home.

the way that people always want there to be an ominous component to the relationship madonna has with her adopted children is really gross

Some of the scrutiny comes from Madonna adopting her kids under odd circumstances (she had to appeal the initial ruling to adopt Mercy because she hadn't lived in Malawi) and calling her Rocco the n-word as a "term of endearment" (her words) on an Instagram post. As far as I can tell, her kids all appear happy and well-loved, but there is a history of white people adopting Black kids and treating them terribly, and some of the scrutiny comes from that.
