like I get him wanting to set the record straight if he feels he needs to but to whine that it's caused problems for his current relationship is dumb. If you have a partner you are serious with it's a valid and responsible conversation to have.

All this says to me is she probably left him (for valid reasons) and he’s bitter about it and trying to prove something to the public. If you’re in a relationship and happy move on. I guess I understand if you feel like you need to put your side of the story out there but I don’t think what Sophia said was terrible about his character. We all know he’s going to eventually get some younger woman pregnant and have kids because that’s what men do

The ironic thing is that Sofia’s comments did not remotely have me thinking he was having a mid-life crisis. In fact, I was more like “ah man, they both loved each other so much but it ultimately became a fork in the road for him”. Nothing she said was mean-spirited, and she framed it as a very relatable “that’s life” state of affairs.

His rebuttals have me thinking he’s in the throes of a mid-life crisis, though.

This! To me, it also didn't sound as if Sofia regarded this as the sole reason for their breakup or meant to put any blame on him at all. She wasn't giving an in-depth analysis of their relationship anyway, it was a more or less casual mention of one issue that she felt set them apart in the relationship. He's the only one making himself appear ~troubled lol

Yeah, I feel like all of this is coming out of left field because when I read her initial remarks I was like, aw, they did love each other but they are just in different places and he's not wrong for wanting kids and she's not wrong for not wanting them so that's sad but it happens.
I didn't think he was evil or bad or wrong or having a mid-life crisis. But now I do lmao.

I was mind-blowing to me to read that men's sperm can cause issues when they are older just as much as women's bodies. Like, it has always been presented to me like women's bodies are the "issue" with having babies 40+ and if the baby has any abnormalities it is her "fault." Surprise, older sperm can also cause problems after a certain age!
