We’re not talking about real baddies

Elena Gilbert was annoying to me because she started off as a great character and then slowly became a dumbass over time.

I have a new rule for myself which some of you might hate but hey it works for me

when a female character is acting horrible to someone or out of character

i don't blame the character i blame the writer like "oh wow you forced the chracter to do this,which the character if written correctly would not do"

Hell i do it when someone writes Superman as unkind or a mini homelander

really works for me to not hate characters as much

also i remember david filoni wrote asoka as annoying as possible in the beginning in her intro to star wars so he could watch the fans reaction and then control how he wrote her to get people to love her and it worked

now she's a fan favorite

When I write a character who does something awful, it’s okay for my reader to dislike that character or that action. That’s why I wrote it. I’m not missing, like, the core correct and true characterization. That’s part of the story I am telling.

it mostly involves when men write women

like so many woman have been written terribly by men that i just go

"no woman would do that,why do you hate women writer"

hope this makes sense

i have no problem with a character doing something awful,if it's in character

if it's out of character then i blame the writer

i'm not gonna lie i never found sookie annoying

and i think she was living her best life with alcide

but i know i'm a minority

also i know people hate bill but i never hated him either

it takes a lot for a character to get under my skin

i'm one of the few people that genuinely loved piper, mostly due to taylor schilling's comedic timing. she was definitely frustrating and i get the hate, but i thought she was really fun and had some really interesting growth over the course of the show. i think the writers always being aware of what her character was and her purpose helped because a lot of characters that suffer from similar issues aren't always intentionally written that way

I love Piper. (Taylor Schilling is hilarious too! She's so good in the role) I honestly don't understood the hate. That show has so many actually deplorable people that I get kinda irritated when people say Piper is their least favorite character. Like none of the guards come to mind???

But there is a good scene with Taystee talking about why people hate Piper that I really like, but seriously the guards are sooo much worse. I will defend Piper for life!
