Yeah a guy friend of mine struggled with it. It’s a massive upheaval in a very short space of time having a baby. Lots of sleepless nights, worrying about a tiny thing that you’re responsible for, big change of lifestyle, can end up being quite isolated. PPD is about more than just hormones (but in women that is definitely a massive factor).

I genuinely don't understand why women have children with men.

Yea most of them are never going to pull their weight as parents, women need to start being more honest with themselves about this when they weigh the pros and cons of kids.

I mean now that we don't have to the birth rate is dropping like crazy and stories like this are exactly why.

I know so many women going into this clear eyed who either refuse to have kids even if they love their partners because they know they won't pull their weight or go into it fully expecting to be a single mom.

What a juxtaposition that must be, loving your partner but being fully aware when push comes to shove they will not help you.

My mom said she did, but she's bipolar so it makes sense.

Another reason I don't want kids - I have PMDD and I know that pregnancy hormones would lead to me needing to be hospitalized. I don't want that, and I don't want to pass my wacky genes on to another generation. My mom's family's genes are STRONG and also less than desirable.

(yeah I'm mostly sad I didn't get my dad's tall genes - I got my mom's very short ones)

My mom said she didn't but that she went through a little bit of gender disappointment after my second oldest brother was born, because everyone had convinced her she was having a girl and my parents had agreed on two kids. And then she had ✨me✨.

Not the point (fuck him is the point) but why do so many women try for bio children at the same time as they're pursuing adoption? It seems incredibly unfair to the child you're adopting to introduce the chaos of a newborn into their life.

i know they are quite religious and married young (early 20s?). i wouldn't be surprised if they weren't trying to conceive yet also not using any birth control/contraceptives

I believe they had been having difficulty getting pregnant, so they had decided to adopt, and then as the process started, she ended up getting pregnant.

I get that it’s a huge deal to cancel some or all of tour but he probably should have. If I were a fan, that would be a reason I’d accept.
