I don't want to sound dramatic or ominous but if Copa America is a sampler for how the World Cup is gonna go, it's gonna go terribly. The United States are in no condition to host a FIFA event, for whatever reason.
People who had tickets weren't allowed in and many fainted due to the pressure of all the audience against the entrance. Children have been separated from their parents because one or the other was allowed in while the other one wasn't. Not even the players' family was allowed in.
This is a disaster. You can see people on the floor being reanimated. This is police brutality central so it's not like people feel comfortable arguing with them, I would guess.
The field was in terrible conditions but that was the least of this tournament's problems. The World Cup is going to be a disaster.
I don't know if every media outlet is showing it (I'm not suggesting anything, I truthfully have no idea). But TyC Sports from Argentina is showing all kinds of footage on this.
They might’ve talked about it on Fox but I just got out to grab food and watch the game and Biden is now addressing the nation 😅 so I missed all the pre-game stuff
