There was no way he was going to be persecuted off of these charges. Prosecution fucked up big.

honestly, the correct move. it was dismissed with prejudice, too.

Dismissed with prejudice is surprising me tbh.

Not with an impaneled jury and a Brady violation.

The charges were dismissed and he cannot be tried again for this specific charge if anyone else is wondering like I was.

Is there any chance the prosecutor will face repercussions for hiding evidence?

disbarment is on the table, but they quit.

You can still be disbarred after quitting, if that’s what you mean. Quitting a job doesn’t mean they left the legal profession.

Quitting doesn’t save you from losing your legal license.

Completely understandable. The prosecutors have been shady from the start. Unconstitutional charges and wanting to enhance their political careers. They completely brought this on themselves.

I wonder if Hannah will get a new trial because of this too.

And inevitably this'll also be at least a retrial if not a quashing of the armourer's conviction.

Rightly so, rule of law is sacred and prosecutors do not get to pull this shit, but I'm enraged that such a stupid move has fucked up justice for Halyna. Whatever the verdict, she deserved to have this tried properly in court.

Someone upthread said it was dismissed with prejudice, so I think the case is done, and prosecutors can’t retry it.

* I misread your comment and thought you were talking about Baldwin’s case.
I wouldn’t be surprised if this debacle was used in Hannah’s appeal.

Baldwin's for sure, yes, but Gutierrez will have to file a fresh/amended appeal in her own case. Which she will win, it's only a question of how big a win. I'm betting she'll wind up in the same position, and it's certainly going to make it extremely difficult if they were planning to go for anyone else after Baldwin.

Hannah’s team was provided the evidence that was hidden from Alec’s team.
