I really disliked many of the turns that the books took (particularly the international politics), so I am glad that they have changed the storylines for many of the characters (particularly Nikki, Todd, and Sarah).
The big twist in the finale was not in the books so I am very interested to see how that plays out next season (please renew this show, SyFy! I enjoy having a light-hearted vampire show with a diverse cast!).
I get that Reginald was distraught over Sarah, but it made me really sad to see Todd (who was distraught about Mike) trying so hard to be there for Reginald who was mostly blowing him off. I know everyone thinks that their pain is the biggest and most original pain that ever existed but sheesh. But I had to laugh at Todd's five stages of grief (anger, running errands, acceptance, ugly crying, depression).
