Oh, so that's why I've been getting news alerts for Rashida Jones in Kyoto, which led me to finding out yesterday I am in the Encyclopedia Britannica entry for Kyoto (in a photo, but still).

Yeah, you can only find me if you know where I am, and I'm not telling that. Plus you can't even see me, you can see the side of my head and my hand covering my face and I'm out of focus. I only know because I know where I was sitting.

she is such a mediocre actress.in every show I've seen her in, he is just there.

Rashida is just not a good actress, I know she's well connected and a nepobababy, but still I just don't get how she keeps getting cast in things much less leading them.

She was dull in Parks. Brought the ensemble down. And outright horrid in Black af. But then the Ecole thing was bad so🤷🏽‍♀️

Yeah, also not that it's a perfect show or anything but she really set a completely mediocre tone for Silo. I don't know why they made her the first character that the audience is supposed to form an emotional bond with, because with her lack of acting skill it all felt extremely flat.

Has anyone watched this show? I want to watch it but I am having reservations. It's hard for me to get into shows that show "expats" who do not integrate, but yell at the locals in English (like Nicole Kidman) so I want to know if this any different. Does she speak Japanese?

She doesn’t speak Japanese. There’s a line in one of the episodes about her being dyslexic and how it’s hard for her to learn languages.
They also have ear bud translating things that translate as someone is speaking so that’s probably another in show excuse for why she never learned.
