I absolutely HATE that episode and skip it every time. It makes me cringe way too much at how awful him not keeping his promise was.

this is super self-aware imo. that undercurrent of seriousness allowed for Better Call Saul (such a great show) to be made on the back of what was intended as a relatively one-note character in Breaking Bad

Not only is Bob right about his own vibe, but the fact that Carell gives off a light and fun vibe is probably while he has struggled to move into dramas despite trying again and again to make it work.

I think Steve is excellent in dramatic roles, such as Little Miss Sunshine and Foxcatcher. Is he not considered successful in drama? First I've heard of this.

Oh, I get it! That makes sense. Thank you.

I think people talk about it often, though, about comedic actors being good in dramatic roles and I agree with those who say comedy requires more than drama. Another example I can think of is Jim Carrey.

I still can't believe this man wrote and acted in episodes of Tom Goes to the Mayor and Tim and Eric's Awesome Show Great Job.
I am so happy he's getting the success because Bob is a gem but wow, what a trajectory.
