it seems like mulaney and his first wife were over before the intervention so the relationship was done pre-rehab and it doesn't seem like oliva and john hooked up until he got out of rehab so i don't think he cheated on anna with olivia.

he might have cheated on anna with other women though. wouldn't be surprised, esp as he was spiraling back into addiction.

this is how i understand it. he had a messy time there, whether or not he cheated is the least concerning thing since he seemed to be on crazy drug binges all the time and in a bad spiral ruining his life. if olivia wanted to be there for the comedown I can only assume theyre really in love. I was grossed out by the whole thing but shit happens.

yeah, dude was letting creepy doctors sexually harass him for prescriptions, i dont know if youre even making decision at that point. its not that it negates cheating, but i dont think thats the actual issue with him. time will tell.

yeah if he did cheat (which we don’t know and probably never will), it seems like it was a secondary behavior coming from, well, relapsing into an extremely serious drug addiction. which is not to excuse the behavior or downplay the hurt he caused but like… people in the grips of severe addiction often make bad selfish choices. this is like… very well known. many people who get clean wrestle with a lot of shame over things they did when they were fucked up! idk i don’t think he’s a saint or whatever nor do i have strong feelings about him in general but i feel weird about people acting (based on unverified assumptions!) like he’s a garden variety cheater based on his behavior during a period of his life where he was so out of control people literally staged an actual intervention for him.

you put it much better than me. watching his special is a real insight into just how bad things got and thats what he chose to share, I cant imagine the lowest lows. it doesnt negate cheating but its a different category for me. I dont know how he an olivia happened and it was all kind of a trainwreck from the outside, but I doubt she's the reason he and anna didnt work out. I had fun making jokes but they seem to be in it for the long haul so who am I to judge (i say, judging everyone and everything all day every day on here but hey ill take a break for once).

That I remember Olivia had been chasing him for a while cause there was a mention of her showing up at his church or some party pretty much eyeing while he was still with his wife years before his marriage broke apart.

IIRC, they were at a mutual’s wedding when she met him and his ex. She tried to contact him after the fact.

She put out that "Sending SO MUCH love and support to John Mulaney. You got this.❤️⚡" tweet in late 2020, that ONTD made fun of for months and then started calling manifesting Munnifesting (some still do that) because she apparently got her wish that she end up with him.

I really don't think he did. What I heard was that he was cheating on his wife with random people but they were separated by something like September 2020 and he was living in an Air BnB or something. He went to rehab that December, got out in 2021 and immediately knocked up Munn. But technically she is not a home wrecker in this instance.
