John Corbett has had a long and fruitful career in both movies and TV. But to hear him tell it, this was all a mistake.

Eh, I feel like there's a stage in life where a lot of people feel like this about whatever job they chose.

At least with him he's got a lot of money out of doing it.

He’s not a good actor so he needs to just be grateful he made enough money to pursue his actual passions. Stop complaining. It’s more than most people get.

well he's acknowledged his wealth and opportunities, it seems he's in a good place to try his hand at writing material for himself to act in? I get where he's coming from re lack of creative input (although "not part of any creative process" isn't completely accurate, is it John) but he's also privileged enough to give a different area of filmmaking a try and even fail without risking the roof over his head.

Has he never improvise or sat with writers and directors about the characters he plays? "I think Aiden should do this because..."

Sounds like he was quiet quitting before the term was coined.

There are so many actors who do their lines straight, then ask the director if they could try a few takes with improve. It's not like he didn't have the chance to do that; doesn't he have a pretty great working relationship with SJP? If Cynthia Nixon was allowed to completely retcon Miranda, he certainly could contributed something to Aidan if he asked.
