Warner Bros Discovery is Sabotaging Last Week Tonight With John Oliver

Jul 08, 2024 11:54

Does anyone know why the first NINE SEASONS of @LastWeekTonight have vanished from @StreamOnMax?

Only two seasons are now on Max. The first eight can be purchased for extra $$ on @PrimeVideo.

Season Ten is on Apple+. Nine is NOWHERE.

Temporary? Or just Warner Bros being crap? pic.twitter.com/6au3VRguzT

You know it's WB-D fucking around on purpose because John Oliver has called them out for being terrible. And that's despite how many awards the show has won and how many people watch his show - even people who subscribe just for him. They're just as bad as Netflix in fucking over creators.

I keep having issues with editing comments. It just doesn't reload the page and sometimes it works if I click out and sometimes it doesn't.

yes, that's the exact problem i have too, but it now appears to happen with new comments as well, not just edited ones.

These companies...I saw something that said business owners are afraid to speak out against trump in case he wins again an essentially puts a hit out on CEOs who allow it.

Streaming services are hitting the saturation point with potential subscribers so now they’re trying to finally get profitable by shrinking their catalogs as much as they can without losing too many subscribers but I doubt it’s going to work.

Pretty soon Max will just be Magnolia shit - Chip and Joanna 24/7/365 nothing else.

they also are conveniently forgetting that taxpayers actually bankroll a lot of their production costs too through "tax credits/rebates" on productions that don't pay taxes, which usually go to pay the primary actor's fees (so that they get paid on a somewhat equivalent basis to a box office film lol)

they're literally getting a large check from state governments to film their projects in that state for temporarily creating jobs with no longevity. there are specific rules affecting the contracts and pay of the crew/production staff who are union members for the los angeles studio zone and secondary studio zone and anything outside of that, but hiring a local crew and production staff who are non-union can significantly reduce those costs
