No need to worry about The Batman2. It was pushed back to give Matt Reeves more time to work on the script. They begin filming early next year, Jan/Feb., in London. The Batman was WB's highest grossing film of 2022, they're gonna make the sequel, no matter how long it takes. Reeves took 3 years to write the original script.

This current story is very confusing because for those of us who've paid attention, it's old news. They literally ran this exact story months ago, but the twist is, this original Arkham series got shifted from The Batman's DC universe to the DCU arena, so it would be part of The Brave and The Bold Batman universe. James Gunn confirmed this at the time.

So some people are seeing this story as simply misleading and are waiting for Gunn to clarify.

So, is it correct to say that the Variety story is mostly about the original pitch of a 2020 Batverse Arkham show project is dead/never took flight... And that the Gunn DCU Arkham project is the 'wholly new and seperate from that' version?

I wonder about this because ( ... )

What is even the point of Max at this point? They seem to no longer make their own content and instead just stream what is already available on HBO or to stream or rent elsewhere.

It basically did a whole u-turn and went back to being „HBO Go“

I saw it rumored the Horizon (zero Dawn) series at Netflix was quietly canceled too.

The way HBO Max fell off so hard and fast will be a story for the ages. I will never understand how or why you'd fumble arguably the best streaming platform as horrifically as Zaslav did

did the DC comics universe like.. idk, decide to adapt their comics to tv/film while desecrating a sacred burial ground for child priestesses for ancient gods or something? it feels like such a constant shitshow
