Yep, the previous guy goes to the King and resigns, then the new guy goes in and the King asks them if they're ready to form a government and if they agree, they're the new PM.

How many things do they “accidentally” break, etc.

What's the likelihood that the RN/FN will win? I've been seeing a lot of worrisome headlines about how they're currently polling.

Well they won the first round with 34% of the votes. The left was second and Macron’s party was third. The election was a record with participation at 65%. It means that 12 million people got up and went to vote for a fascist party. Even with the left united, it seems like the numbers are just not there: France is a right wing country so Sunday’s shaping up to be bleak.

The odds are that Macron is gonna be crushed by the only enemy he ever acknowledged, the far right, and will have to govern with a far right prime minister

I'm not a big fan of Starmer (or a fan at all(, but thank the fuck tories are gone.

And there's still great MPs in the Labour party, I have some faith in them. Idk, I just can't help but try to be optimistic about this, otherwise we'll all just descend into apathy or rage.

I am heartened by some of his Cabinet picks - he's picking actual experts. A real KC as Attorney Gen. Someone in charge of prisons who actually walks the walk on ex-prisoner rehabilitation. Someone who gives a crap about climate change is in charge of environment.

Like, I don't think he's suddenly going to become super progressive, but some basic sense back in the room is nice.

I know it only converts to 4 seats but I am very concerned about the number of votes for Reform, and very annoyed by the twitter lefties telling us to ignore it.

Shame I couldn't truly enjoy the Tories finally being eviscerated because I don't have any hope for Starmer et al. At least my chosen MP got in.

Yeah that Reform vote share is an ugly stain on the UK.

I did see someone say that they got the same number of seats with constant press coverage and billionaire funding and backing when Green got the same off a fraction of it, but it's still too many people voting for Reform.

I don't know why people still think that the radical crazies of the world have little to no impact on political affairs.

I'm very worried that over 4 million voted for Reform.

I'm even more worried that the fact that Farage will be a piss-poor MP (like he was a piss-poor MEP) won't make a difference.
