Labour are definitely going to be in power but for the first time in my life I didn't vote labour. I live in a Labour stronghold, but all the other candidates are virtually the same. It's literally 4 right-wingers and 2 centrists. I voted Green instead but even then they were the best out of a group of horrible choices. This is just not a good area for me to live.

Same, mine was very low effort. Their manifesto was essentially a recycled Lib Dem manifesto from the coalition era - lots of talk about student loans, not much else. This is not a university city, so no idea why they chose to run so strongly on that.

Labour are devolving back to their New Labour era. The only reason they've won this election is because the Tories are beyond shitty and most everyone is fed up with them.

Mfte, this is yet again british people voting by anger and nostalgia rather than doing some research. Because that worked so well for brexit, didn’t it.

Yea the Greens are... interesting. Their opposition to nuclear energy is completely antithetical to a climate change agenda, but that stance doesn't weigh on my soul like the Labour's support of Israel. (Not UK-based so couldn't vote regardless, but ya I prefer them to Labour. Also prefer Lib Dem to Labour this time around with a bigger tax and social spend agenda + rejoining EU.)

The green stance on nuclear weapons is definitely a weird one. It makes it look like they’re trying to give themselves a ‘tougher’ image to appeal to right wingers but it’s taking them a while to realise that doesn’t work. Labour is just Tory-lite right now - when the ultra-rich started supporting Labour everyone should’ve seen that as a massive warning sign that we’re going to get the same shit but painted red instead of blue.

Also, I can’t get over Starmer’s support of the sun newspaper. He might end up being the first labour PM to lose Liverpool.
