It's funny (not funny at all) how we all see our parents as ~old~. I read this thinking "74 is way too young for this shit" but then I realize she's older than my dad when he was first diagnosed with lung cancer, and only 4 years younger than him when he died from prostate cancer.

I think it's because she's still cool, and performing, and my dad was retired for like 20 years. Spending most days sitting on the front porch watching the neighbors and yelling at clouds.

One of the most iconic voices of my entire music listening life. Cancer is horrible, but I am glad that she got treatment and seems to be on the mend. I never got the chance to see Heart live (my dad got sick the day that we were going to see them when they were about an hour away), which is unfortunate. I wish her the best in her recovery!
