I thought about that first too but I'll allow it because she is probably 30 and if it's WW2 and the kid is 9, it checks out. (There was a similar setup with her in See How They Run.)

That was my first thought, she's already considered old enough to play mothers in Hollywood. 🥲

I know nothing about this, but I adore her and need her to win her well deserved Oscar, so I hope this is good.

Nothing about the plot appeals to me. I’m sure it’s well made and acted though

Makes sense the world premiere would be at LFF but I’m bummed that means it’s skipping over TIFF.

I’m not being funny but how many more World War 2 films do we need.

Came in here to make the exact same comment. How many more ww2 movies do we have to endure? When will they have finally told all of the stories and we can move on? Or is that when they'll reboot Schindler's List and start it all over again?

I mean, no one is forcing you to watch it.

For me, is about the talent involved. Saoirse Ronan and Steve McQueen... I'll be there.

Not to mention a WWII film about a black kid living with a white family trying to escape the rural English countryside alone... It just feels like trauma exploitation
