hasn't the narrative always been that she didn't submit?

i like to look at the emmy pdfs and pretty much every actor on tv is in these, if a previous winner isn't on there it is notable

Yeah, it was always about her not even submitting bc she didn't find her material emmy worthy. lol

i thought the narrative always was that she didn't submit because she didn't think the writing/material was good enough lol. not that she turned down a nomination.

She made a point of publicly saying the team behind the show didn’t produce quality enough content for her to even submit for the chance to be nominated… and then was surprised the show let her go. It feels like “fuck around and find out” to me. Years later, she’s repeating the story confirming why she didn’t submit seemingly unaware how the team could’ve possibly found it offensive or at least irritating like it’s somehow ameliorating information.

But the material she was given was seemingly done in part as punishment for her being so vocally for T.R. Knight when Shonda was pissed she ever even had to let Isaiah Washington go. It would be one thing if it had been a regular show with regular circumstances and she shit on the writing, but that season hadn't happened in a vacuum.

I think very few people in Hollywood at that time could’ve gotten away with badmouthing their projects. usually it was just legends or Oscar winners, or someone who was like famous enough to joke about their shit being bad.

but on a tv show? that doesn’t have your name in the title? come on girl!
