Not to go wildly OT but his rebrand has been insane????? I have a normie Catholic relative (meaning someone trad Caths would probably call a heretic/someone who believes that love thy neighbour really does come before judging the shit out of others) and she's been really upset about how Mark Wahlberg keeps showing up in a lot of the online Catholic content she watches/listens to (the big ones I heard were Ascension Press, which does Bible/Catechism in a Year podcasts and things like that, and Hallow, a prayer app). She can't stand him because he's taking advantage of the Catholic thirst for a "big name" on their side to completely cover up or otherwise rebrand his violent past without ever actually taking responsibility or putting in work for repentance. I just went and checked on YouTube to see what videos popped up and it's actually disturbing how many prominent Catholic media personalities are platforming him.

This is such a weird message to have? It's been just like 2 weeks and they're already moving on? So many ppl die from drunk drivers and he's essentially saying it's not his problem and pretty much letting us know he will continue to dwi. I just think it's bizarre. They're acting like they're being attacked by a hater instead of acknowledging that they did something pretty fkd up and got lucky that no one else got hurt. I dunno man. I just think it's quite a heartless attitude to have. But very fitting for rich folks.

The fact that they keep releasing stories makes me think they know there's more that could come out and are just trying to keep the narrative positive. Either that or they're trying to counteract all the memes making fun of him.

Or his managers and publicity people truly hate him. Because these articles aren't doing him any favors, IMO. I had almost forgotten about this story, but stories like these are reminders and making me hate him even more.

If he'd just go be mayo in the woods, I think most people would forget.
