'The Bear' Takes a Step Down in an Aimless Season 3 That Leans Too Heavily on Star Power: TV Review https://t.co/Lrc6rIziNt - Variety (@Variety) June 27, 2024
We know why no one got screeners for The Bear season 3.
Yup! I'm on episode 8 right now and it just feels so aimless.
Like, a kinda boring slice of life but no real plot or stakes. I don't feel like any of the characters have advanced or evolved. There's been beautiful moments scattered through it (EP 1 & EP 6!) but overall, just no :(
i'm on episode 9 at the moment and i think it's decent, i like it even more than previous season because [Spoiler (click to open)]it's features less Claire Nonetheless, [Spoiler (click to open)]John Cena and the whole Fak family can fak off
Alright, i watched it all. [Spoiler (click to open)]Too many loose ends, man. Too much Faks. Can we finish at least one story? Where's part two? Because it feels like there's gotta be one
Too many Faks! I don't mind the Faks when they are used sparingly. Though I do want to finally meet Francie Fak. I wonder what big name will get cast for that.
I'm through the first 4 episodes and it does feel rather stream of conscious. The first episode kind of made sense because if we're looking into Carmy's head you don't think about your past in a linear way, you hop all around. (I can't take credit for that, I read of review of We Need to Talk About Kevin that used that explanation for the way the storyline moved). But if the rest of the season is really just Richie and Carmy yelling at each other while everyone drowns around them it's going to get old.
I tried to get into this show, but it was pretty dull if you ask me. It just seems like one of those shows that takes itself very seriously but doesn't have much to say other than "look at this sad main male character. He will have a mental breakdown and push everyone away at one point this season and you will feel sad for him."
i watched both seasons and will watch this one but i really don't get the hype at all and find it extremely hard to be emotionally invested in any of the characters or anything going on
