what sucks the most about all of this is that we little people can do our best, but ultimately, it's out of our hands and in the hands of governments and corporations

and I don't trust them to do the right thing at any point. it's like living in a slow burn horror movie and it's really sad.

I worry about getting older because I wonder how much of my life will be spent witnessing the destruction of our planet

I don't actually think we're doing our best. Most of the Western middle class is still flying around the world and eating meat, to start. It's fun to blame Taylor and Kim, but I just took a 2h flight to visit relatives in a different European country, which probably amounts to some bug extinction in the Amazon. Then I look at a map like https://www.flightradar24.com and begin to understand what trillions of tons of carbon dioxide emissions represent.

We all consume and until that stops the corporations and politicians will reflect our true choices.

Maybe he should talk to his own fucking political party about this, since they’re the ones denying climate change is real and doing everything they can to prevent any steps to help.

I've seen how the film industry in Toronto has been facing challenges trying to decrease their environmental impact, I'm glad it's part of a global effort

As long as everyone is delusional, holding out for a technological magic bullet that fixes the problem in one fell swoop, but allows us to continue living as we're accustomed to, nothing will be done. (Please god, don't let Bill Gates blot out the sun. 😖)

Drastically and permanently altering the way we live is a hard sell, but it's coming. It's either we do it voluntarily or we wait for wide-scale collapse to force it.
