we got to see it back in theaters a few years ago and it was so much fun seeing it on the big screen, i love that this movie keeps on giving.

There was a David Bowie exhibition a while back, and one of the pieces was a letter he wrote to Jim Henson, saying he had some notes about the character he was playing. I wonder if he was one of the main reasons why they scrapped the idea of Jareth having a real-world counterpart who would be the playwright of the Labyrinth, who shows up at Sarah's house and creeps on her.

No idea! The novelization somewhat keeps this, although it's toned down a bit. There's also line where Jareth makes a remark that he doesn't know what to do with her, because Sarah is too old to be turned into a goblin, but too young for him to take into the castle (with the implication of him taking her to be courted); I think the novelization keeps an almost-kiss in the ballroom scene. I can't remember if the shooting script had an attempted kiss or not... I remember there being some drama on Labyrinth tumblr about it.
