Also as much as I've long enjoyed Daler Mehndi, I'm so ready for more modern Punjabi musical representation like Diljit in the global consciousness.

tbh I'm a non-Punjabi Indian and not very knowledgeable, so I'm not the person to ask. (OP might have recs for you?) I mostly just listen to whatever I get recommended on YouTube.

I can recommend an oldie but goodie, Bally Sagoo, who is probably the best DJ India has ever produced.

First is basically saying "The Punjabis are here" and the second is our greeting, used for hello and goodbye but generally translates to "blessed is the person who says 'god is truth'."
