Love this movie, but honestly it's pretty bad lol. I always thought it was weird they got the rights to the music but Paul and Ringo aren't in it at all. They could have made cameos

This movie was an EVENT to 15 year old me! I was so hopeful about the future and very much obsessed with the counter culture movement of the 60s. Plus my life long crush of Evan Rachel Wood resulted in having my mom drive us to the only movie theatre in our area that was showing it, which was over an hour away from our house lol.

When it had a widespread release and was being shown in my town I made my friends go.

I also convinced my one teacher we needed to watch it for class. He ended up having us watch it in the auditorium, which other classes then joined to watch. And yet I don’t think I have it on DVD, needs to change asap.

The soundtrack is phenomenal, and I wish the supporting cast had gotten more roles! T.V Carpio’s rendition of “I Want To Hold Your Hand” was everything to baby queer me. Let It Be is one of the most emotional, memorial moments to me. I’ll stop gushing now lol

"The heads of the studio wanted to change quite a bit," she said, "They wanted to remove anything political, anything queer and anything psychedelic."

What would be the point of even doing the movie then? Just do another property!

I should rewatch this movie - at the time I was annoyed with some of the super literal interpretations of the songs ("I Wanna Hold Your Hand" was particularly egregious) but I do remember enjoying the "She's So Heavy" visuals and all the covers.
