I really liked the first book in this series but after that, the plots got way too bogged down in the politics (and simultaneously, it felt like the author was just trying to reach a page minimum) so I am glad that the show is minimizing that plot and focusing on the friendships between the characters. I can't wait to see what happens to Mike next week. I have enjoyed watching his relationship with Todd develop over the season.
