I do too! I had not heard of Victoria Justice or any of the Disney shows. I was too old! I heard of Ariana around the cat ears phase

Tbh this is more than I expected from her. I was sure she'd taken money to stay quiet, but maybe not.

Nobody deserves what these kids went through, though. A lot of things need to be addressed in the industry. This first.

She's probably more loaded than anybody else at Nickelodeon at the moment. Was her taking money really the only explanation? Maybe she just didn't want to give anything to people on social media who were already re-sharing photos and clips of her in questionable situations on the show, writing comments like "I bet Ariana Grande was also molested and probably raped" and hoping it's true, so that they'd be right.

Why would anything be expected of her at all here? She was also a victim.

I hated seeing those types of comments. So predatory themselves, but acting like they give a fuck about the victim. So many people wrote such awful scenarios about her, Amanda Bynes, etc and it honestly sounded almost gleeful to me. Like they were HOPING by them saying it ahead of others that people could look back on their comments when these actresses came out with allegations. We live in such a disturbing world.

I've lost count of the amount of "Amanda Bynes was raped by Dan Schneider and got pregnant!" comments I've seen.

It's not surprising that predators often go after children/younger women, it's a known fact that the younger you are, the easier you are to manipulate. I dread to think of all the things those kids were made to believe were 'cool' when it was just another way to exploit them.

is she a good actress? I'm not excited about her Glinda at all but I'm going to watch Wicked with an open mind cause I want to like the film.

it’s hard to judge her acting ability because her most notable credits are in victorious and sam & cat where she plays a very exaggerated version of a dumb blonde type. but she was good in that role in that she owned being cat so much so that it was hard for her to differentiate from that character when she was first branching into music.

I hated the way Quiet on Set talked about how gross the innuendo was and then actually showed it, especially scenes featuring Ariana who it appears did not collaborate with the documentary. It felt exploitative and gross in itself.

The documentary was pretty exploitive in its editing, which is upsetting because all these people felt safe enough to tell their story only for the finished product to be what it ended up being. I hope no one is bothered by it.

I didn't watch it but that was something I heard a LOT about.

I def had this criticism about it too. There’s only so many times I could see certain shots before I started wondering in the intentions of the film and its execution. They used it as padding
