Inside Out 2 World Premiere

Most of the voice cast for Inside Out 2 attended the world premiere of their film in Los Angeles. Notably missing were Phyllis Smith (Sadness), Adèle Exarchopoulos (Ennui), Paul Walter Hauser (Embarrasment), and Diane Lane (Riley's mom).

I’m already kind of pre-disposed to be a little “hm” at tony hale bc of that NYTs article where he and the rest of the male cast made jessica walter upset but like. all these clips and he’s just…not Hader! Fear had all these fun particulars in the original movie and in this one he just sounds like Forky!

I adore the first movie. It was creative, well written and the message about dealing with emotions instead of avoiding them, was perfect. Riley's scene with her parents and all the memories turning blue, still makes me cry.

I'm taking my niece and two of her friends to see it this weekend and I'm more excited than them!

I love the first one so much, too! It came out when I was in grad school for clinical mental health counseling. I remember that our ethics professor, who was also an LMFT/family counselor, took his grandkids to see it (idk if he knew anything about it or if it was just "hey, new Pixar movie"), and was so impressed with it that he sent an email to our cohort recommending we go see it.

This is speaking purely anecdotally, but I've had many adolescent clients connect with "Inside Out" and "Encanto" and find them helpful for understanding and processing challenging emotions.
