“This song is very clearly discussing being at that point of deeming your life unworthy of continuing to live-which is so dark, but it’s also a reality that a lot of people are facing. Then it goes on about the insecurities and pressures of social media, and these algorithms that we’re all addicted to, myself included.”

This part. Too relatable lately 😢

Yeah, especially in our social media flooded times. Either you look at strangers’ perfect lives and feel like yours is not worth it, or you look at children dying and the planet burning and you feel like you’re a burden. That feeling is really relatable.

I'd never heard of her until you posted about her yesterday. After hearing Genesis (which is incredible) and watching her interviews and ETT (which is adorable), I'm a fan. It's great to see her coming into her own and garnering both critical acclaim and commercial success after being screwed over by her original label.

She’s such an important talent, poised for and deserving of global recognition really.

I didn’t know I was already bopping along to her music years before I knew who she was. Her set at the SWR3 New Pop Festival last year was my gateway drug, if you have an hour to spare:

Good on her for pushing back on the song length. It goes so many places and does so successfully. The big band element really adds a richness/uniqueness to her music too so I appreciate hearing it. It was the best part of her show too.

I’m partial to Pt. iii for that reason, too. There’s nothing quite like her sound that’s fresh out there. She’s force-feeding century-old 20’s jazz to Gen Z and she dgaf. 😭

It’s almost disorienting how she pieces her music together. I love it-reminds me of Queen.

I love her soooo much have since 2016!!! My 21st Century Blues has been on repeat since it came out, and Genesis is amazing

she has such a gift for straightforward, poignant lyrics
