I was already excited for this and then I got even more excited when I realized Elizabeth Debicki is in it.

Looks good!! I love that all three movies in this trilogy are so different. I really liked the first two, so I'm guessing I'll be into this one, too.

As someone who has not seen the previous movie(s?), can someone explain how close this is to say, the scream franchise, in terms of storyline?

They’re not really similar at all.

X was a 70s throwback to films like Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

Pearl was based off old technicolor films and was in effect a character study of the title character becoming a serial killer.

MaXXXine might be the closest to Scream in that’s it’s a whodunit slasher although it’s apparently inspired more by 80s movies and the giallo genre.

not similar to scream in any fashion. literally it's own new brand of horror, in my opinion.
