not the same but...
my back feels better, but I am so unhappy with my breast reduction. it's been very upsetting. I will definitely have a revision down the line.
the point (for me) was to never have to wear a bra again, but now I have scars to try and hide, weird side-boob fat, and my boobs STILL don't fit in the clothing size I should be wearing...and now everything has god damn cutouts in weird places.
yes, my answer to botched surgery will definitely be another surgery. I would NEVER touch my face cosmetically after this experience.

I think we downplay the common consequences of breast implants. A lot of women who survived breast cancer end up having them removed because they make them sicker than the cancer.

A friend of mine is a surgeon who specializes in post-mastectomy reconstruction using the patient's own fat tissue, but it's a long, complicated initial surgery and not many doctors can do it as of now. Hopefully it's something more get trained in so it's more of an option.

My mom had breast cancer around 2000. It's been over 20 years & they didn't need to replace the implant, is this a newer issue?

"one day people will forget or not know that I had cancer, but they'll look at me and go, 'Oh, what a bad boob job.'"

That's really sad, our society is messed up.

I do think she needed to see a different surgeon, if she had to pressure him to do a smaller size and it turned out fine, he obviously didn't fully know what he was talking about. When I got breast implants (which I regret tbh) I met with one surgeon and told him I wanted to get to a C cup and he recommended 450-600cc. I knew that was bonkers and went with another dr and got 375cc which took me to a D, and I still wish they were smaller. I think a lot of male surgeons don't understand how sizing works at all.
