Funny, because none of the men in Seinfeld were "dominant males" by any stretch of the imagination.

Yeah how weird. He had an entire episode about being emasculated because he wanted to eat salad over meat. I feel like the only "masculine" energy depicted was dating a new woman every episode. Otherwise they circumvented the trope a lot. Dude is getting senile or is just that out of touch

"dating a new woman every episode"

which was such a stretch even for a comedy show, as if anyone of them had any chance with half the women on that show. they were so deeply unattractive. jerry was always giving this desperate take of I'm a comedian, I'm funny which drop dead gorgeous women are tripping over. the show did not age well and so many of the episodes are giving total incel vibes.

Does Jerry Seinfeld think he falls under the category of "dominant masculinity"?

Well in that quote he says no.
I always wanted to be a real man. I never made it, [but] in that era, it was JFK. It was Mohammed Ali. It was Sean Connery, Howard Cosell…that’s a real man.”

ONTDer just reads the summary strikes again!

Also, laying on the horn does not make you real man~ and he has obviously never been to Charlotte where there are zero rules of the road. At least he knows it's toxic, I guess? But also fuck all the way off.

So as per usual men stay projecting their own shortcomings.

It was never 'agreed upon', though, was it?! Certain groups suffered under it (still do, just to a lesser extent).

Yep, I almost put this in the post but then remembered ONTD doesn't want a long comment by the poster. Who was 'agreeing upon' this hierarchy?

That's part of toxic male culture- lack of affirmative, enthusiastic, and actual consent.

That's the era he wants to return to.
