hmmm ngl i thought he'd make more interesting choices post-furiosa. i know that's still a big budget studio film but that's with a well-respected and known director that has a singular vision. kind of wild that out of all the avengers (not named rdj and rufallo), chris evans is making the more non-commercial choices rn (after a string of bad movies)

Hmm after Furiosa he def should've gone in a different direction.

I'm just rooting for a good Transformers movie. Excited for TFOne and this crossover, even though I KNOW, deep in my bones, it'll be a hot mess.

This, after going on and on about wanting to be taken seriously as an actor. He better watch out, because Travis Kelcie is right there.

Hate this choice for him tbh. He keeps flirting with showing the world he's a better actor than he gets credit for (Furiosa! Rush! Bad Times at the El Royale!), and then seems to get cold feet and go back to these sorts of projects.

Mel Gibson's obviously trash as a person, but I feel like Hemsworth really should be looking at his early/mid-career roles - do a Gallipoli (Australia will eat that up), a Year of Living Dangerously, a What Women Want, a Braveheart, a Signs! Before jumping back into these sorts of projects.

I think the problem is that every time he's tried to go that mid-budget, quality filmmaking route, the films have underperformed at the box office (and sometimes even critically). Rush, In the Heart of the Sea, Blackhat (which has had a critical resurgence), and Furiosa all fall in that category.

Maybe some of this was bad luck, but it's also kind of true that there's virtually no audience for mid-budget filmmaking and the studios don't know how to market them anymore.
