I’ve watched so much stuff about Nicola that I thought this was an announcement that Pennywise was a previous character on Derry Girls and was now going to be recurring.

Officially there had been no announcement but Bill was asked about it last year and he said he hadn’t been cast yet. Maybe it was a late thing.
