It's interesting how both her statement and Kelly's lean towards being more vague, but the implications are very much there. They probably can't flat out say anything.

Yeah at first glance it’s not really saying much at all. But with context and knowing how shitty the industry is…

Thinking about it now… People would have assumed I was roseanne’s kinfolk the way I would’ve reacted. Oooooh the trailer park.

There were a few comments here in regards to making it seem like Kelly was just a celeb being an asshole and it’s crazy to me that anyone would come to that conclusion about a black woman who has been in the industry for nearly 30 years that has to be very careful of her image due to being a dark skin black woman who can easily be stereotyped as an “angry black woman”.

People on the internet are driving me crazy trying to argue this is an industry event and just how people there are treated. Ok, even if by some chance it's not a racist thing, it's still wrong how they're treating the people, celebrities or not. If timing is of such importance, they could easily place the responsibility on the photographers. Have a set amount of time for photographers to photograph someone on the steps, then they stop. Celebs really aren't gonna stand there spending time on the steps once no one is taking their pictures. And any outlets/photographers that don't listen, they can then get removed from the press area.

Yep - just because it's an industry standard doesn't mean it shouldn't be re-considered and changed.

Like, obviously, we all know this security lady was following orders and doing as instructed, but why / who instructed her to act like this in the first place? Seems like they need to re-vamp their processes because wrangling people like this on the stairs should not be the default go-to solution.

And it's clearly also a bad look / press for Cannes.
