Comments like this are why I have such a love/hate relationship with Shondaland shows. lol The Duke is most definitely flawed! He is both an overly romantic hero in some ways, but also just profoundly stubborn and emotionally immature in many ways.

Hearing that, I'm grateful someone else is showrunning Bridgerton. Also, the show is definitely more interesting than the Bridgerton books. Not that I've read them all, but from what I've read of them, it feels very middle of the road romance. The show has made some of the characters more nuanced and interesting.

i mean shonda deliberately and intentionally mentions his flawlessness as occurring after all his bullshit is "fixed", lmao.

I just started reading the first Bridgerton book and keep getting annoyed by their descriptions because I like the cast as is/not all white. Every time the Duke’s icy blue eyes get mentioned I roll my eyes, lol. Anyway, out of the men on the list.. the Duke for sure.

I'm currently reading Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, and I think the series is taking more interesting paths with the characters (making them more complicated) than the books.

Ooh that is not encouraging, lol. I wanna get through all of the books, but even this first one is far more boring that I expected.

I think I'm picky because clearly, a lot of people love these books. To me, the writing doesn't really transport me. Descriptions feel repetitive at times and sometimes, less is more. The Bridgerton books feel like a lot of other straight, white people romance books where the guys are all vaguely dickish and the women have to put up with it. I've read enough of those stories to last me a lifetime. LOL In fact, I didn't think I would enjoy the Netflix series either, but it really sucked me in. I think the Shondaland team streamlined the narrative and brought more complexity to the characters. Plus, the visual look adds a lot to the universe.

I don't watch Bridgerton but I too would pick the hottest one, Shonda.
