I went to Poland in april and I did not like it. I have in my camera roll a dozen photos of swastika graffiti. They also use the star of david as an insult in graffiti. My grandma was from Lodz and i went there to see my great grandmothers grave, which is in Europe's largest jewish cemetery. The cemetery is in ruins with zero maintenance.

Even in my tour to Auschwitz the polish guide kept separating nazis from the poles, saying they had no idea what was happening and if they did they would've stopped it. Which directly contradicts the stories from my polish grandparents who survived the holocaust. They said their neighbors and classmates would tell them if hitler didnt kill them, they would. Even once they were liberated they experienced violence and anti semitism from polish people, which is why they came to USA.

Antisemitism in eastern/central Europe is still alive and well sadly. My family is from Ukraine and they left in the early 1900s because it was so bad. I don’t think any of my great grandparents ever went back because it was so terrible.

I have Ukrainian Jewish ancestry and thats when that part if my family left for America, and for the same reasons. They faced so much antisemitism even in the US that they stopped practicing the religion all together and didnt raise their kids in it.

I am culturally Jewish, but wasn’t raised religious. Honestly that had way more to do with the fact that my mom is Catholic and neither parent wanted much to do with religion outside of the gift giving holidays lmao. But it always made me a little sad I never knew more about Judaism until I got a degree in religion. I’ve always loved Judaism, but religion isn’t for me at all.

Wow, Jesse. That’s a lot of pressure. But best of luck, I hope you’re successful in creating that bridge!

Remember that time you were at a book fair with Kunal from the Big Bang Theory and you told the first person up to ask a question that the rules were she had to pick who she liked better? And remember how she said no, but you basically told her thems the rules? And then she chose Kunal? Remember that, you pretentious bitch?

Hahahahaha no. He wouldn’t have had to needle me for an answer, I would’ve said Kunal with my whole chest right away and I didn’t even know who he was.
