Tim Blake Nelson spilled some late 90s tea
I won’t say the actor’s name, because I don’t wanna embarrass him or her, but it’s such a funny story. I had a friend who went to do Eyes Wide Shut, and he/she was playing a nice role and did a couple of days. And Stanley Kubrick came and knocked on his/her door and took him/her down the hall and put

I know Harvey Keitel has spoken about being fired from Eyes Wide Shut, but I think it was because he was being an ass / over Kubrick.
Jennifer Jason Leigh filmed scenes but couldn't make reshoots because of eXistenZ or something, but I don't think she was fired.

Stanley must've really not liked that person or something because I remember Sterling Hayden talking about how he really struggled in one scene for Dr.Strangelove and at one point he's doing 39 takes and he's only was getting worse. But Stanley gave him some encouraging words and was like if you don't get it now we'll come back in a few months and do it again. He later took a short break, came back and did the scene well.
So this is interesting lol.
ETA: I also remember reading an oral history of the movie and the actress who played Mandy talked about being physically unable to do a scene cause it was too close to real life in a way and she was fine cause she was in the final cut.
So damn I'm real curious about who this actor was!!

Cause I know Harvey originally had the Sydney Pollack role of Victor Ziegler but they didn't get along and Harvey claims he quit because he felt Stanley disrespected him. Gary Oldman put his 2 cents in during an interview and said it was that Harvey left because Stanley kept making do a dozen takes which Stanley was famously known for doing.
Jennifer was more due to scheduling conflicts so Marie Richardson got the Marion Nathanson role instead.
Other than that I haven't really heard of people who had a role in that film but lost or left it.
That's my favorite Kubrick, so I love to find out tea or any tidbits about that movie.
