I’m guessing that most of the opening day customers were diehard fans who will say everything was great. I’ll be curious to see the reviews from locals in a few weeks.
i think the longest i've waited to get into a restaurant is like, an hour. it's not so bad now that you can put your name on a waitlist and go off to do something else.
My friends and I had to wait FOREVER at the revolving sushi place in little tokyo. This was forever ago. Everyone had to write a name and the party size in a notebook outside. They would come out and call out the name after a couple hours. One in three or four groups had given up by that point. I kept an eye on the list for upcoming groups of our size. If one didn’t appear to be there, we were going to take their spot. It happened and we were able to get in thanks to a girl named Katie somewhwere. 🫡
As for the sandwiches, Teri Noble Maloney suggested “The Meg,” “which is like a Mediterranean salad on a lavash wrap.” But she also remains partial to the chicken salad sandwich called “The Reese.” Prices on the meals range from $14 to $18, chips not included (but several plates came with grapes).
As their first day neared closing time (4 p.m.), all signs pointed to success. Four out of the nine sandwiches had sold out, and the line still showed no signs of winding down.
