I really don't get the splitting the bill when people order different priced foods. Maybe its cultural but I usually pay for my own food only

I stopped doing this when I turned 25ish and realised that we all had jobs and £4.00 difference just ain't worth it. Unless someone ordered a steak and the other ordered a salad, we are splitting it x ways.

100%. I don’t drink and some of my friends are pretty much alcoholics. At quizzo last night, each of them probably had 4-6 drinks. I had water. We’re not splitting that bill. I’ll pay for what I eat.
