not sure why they have him as eric though. from what ive seen in the trailer theres literally nothing in common with the original except their names and that he and his girlfriend die? why not just make it a sequel

That's one of the main things that bothers me. If this is supposed to be a "reimagining" of the original then why is the story totally different, and if it's not, why not just give the characters different names if they aren't based on the originals? Makes no sense to me
