Billie talks about Hit Me Hard and Soft and how she spent six hours in a tank of freezing water to create the image she wanted for her new album cover.
Wow, was she the only guest last night? I'm still not feeling this album as much. It's really good but the songs aren't grabbing me, except for The Greatest and Skinny.
i don't mind her dressing like she fell from the sky into a vans warehouse. it probably pisses off the men who sexualize her and plus, she looks so comfortable! going through every sitting position possible on that chair lmao.
it's interesting what she said about her intentions not being important for people's interpretation but she went to such lengths to get the specific image she had in her head for the cover.
She is def not as unbothered as she tries to seem (if she releases 10 variants of covers and silly limited covers with paint she splattered), not even mentioning the hard work she puts on campaigning for awards to go "I can't belive this" on her speeches.
HOWEVER, she is absolutly right. That's her marketing and it fills a gap in the popstar landscape. We always need a rebel, that is not that radical, but pushes it further just a little bit, while also palying the game.
I have not heard her new album, but by critics reaction (with the exception of Pitchfork that hated it) and the general feelings on the albums released this year, I'm betting on this getting AOTY.
