“The doctor said I even broke my taint. How do you break a taint?” recalls Jeremy Renner, his off-color sense of humor evident.

The actor opens up about his life-threatening accident in a new interview with The Times. https://t.co/pv02xOSElO pic.twitter.com/bSyShGyfZx

Taint breakage is probably a more frequent occurrence than he seems to think. I feel like pretty much every sport, not just skiing, has caused a broken taint or two.

he had at least 37 other broken bones, a collapsed lung, a heart rate that fell to 18 bpm, and an eye popped out of the socket. He says he has better vision in that eye now, so that's cool.

i had to highlight this bc bro WHAT!!!! the eyeball outta the socket was the cherry on top of this trauma omfg

honestly a miracle hes alive and walking. ik he has the best healthcare but doctors can only do so much!

I've always found that if I squeeze my eyeballs without my glasses on, my eyesight does get sharper.

In a weird way, I think having to do so much working out for Marvel probably helped. A cardiovascular system used to strenuous workouts is probably more used to coping with that kind of physical stress load. The sheer shock and stress on your heart'll kill you as fast as any individual injury

yup. my uncle was in a horrible plane crash years ago and burned like 900% of his body. he was also super active before that and the doctors told him he only lived because he was so fit!

my uncle was in a plane crash, burned over 90% of his body, was in hospital for months. he was a really active and healthy man, and his doctors told him that his fitness level pre-crash was one of the main reasons his body was able to survive the trauma.
