Wow, has anyone ever done something this unnecessary before? The ego of that man x_x

That said, while this man should never be allowed to run a show ever ever again, his one off episodes can be ok. He just needs someone else to be in charge of characterizations/overall arcs and he can write an ok single plot. RTD seems to be able to keep Moffat's worst tendencies in check.

I mean...maybe I'm in the minority here but as many issues as I have with Moffat when he's in charge, his one-offs have always been great. His entire first season as showrunner was great before he got a big head, tbh. So consider me excited for this.

I completely agree. I'm 100% sure it'll be better than the tragic start the season's already off to.

I have a love-hate relationship with Moffat’s Who work. He’s written some of my favorite episodes, but he definitely bought into his own hype after S5 and Sherlock’s initial success.

It’s kind of weird how Moffat and Murray Gold came back with RTD, though. Chibnall’s seasons were uneven, but at least they felt different.

Yeah, Moffat is not an untalented writer but he needs someone to slap his hand and tell him that's enough. He's infinitely better when he's working under someone else.

I wasn't a fan of Chibnall (I mostly found his run kind of boring which is unfortunate because I did like Jodi) but I will give him his dues for trying something new. I think every writer he brought in was new to the series as well, which was a nice change of pace. I'm still VERY hesitant about everyone and everything being brought back to the new series, but I'm definitely enjoying the energy Ncuti is bringing.

As a long time Moffat hater, I can't believe I'd never watched HBomberguy's Sherlock video before (lol maybe the nearly 2 hour run time scared me off?), but I finally watched it a couple of months ago and it outlines all the ways Moffat sucks as a writer so beautifully.

I mean I hate him, but he is good at one-off stories. He just can't plan seasons.
