The ones who got sent home were exactly the ones I wanted to see go home!
It was frustrating to see them change to the quick fire mattering for final elimination when just a few episodes ago wasn’t someone sent home who won the quick fire?
I agree that it makes no sense to change the criteria this far into the season.
One of the other unfair things I noticed this season was the prize money. The first two weeks, the winner received $5000. The next two weeks, the winner received $7500. Then out of the blue, the quickfire winner received $20K, but only for that one week. This week the quickfire prize was $10K.
And the elimination challenge winners have sporadically been winning money. During week 2, the winner got $10K. In week 4, a two-person team split $10K. During restaurant wars, the winning team split $40K among 5 people.
It seems really unfair that some people who won quickfire challenges won WAY more money and that some people who won elimination challenges got money while others did not. It seems very willy nilly, disorganized, and illogical who gets money for winning a challenge.
And yes, I think Charly was the one who won a quickfire and then was eliminated in the same episode.
This entire season has felt like one big organizational mess tbh. It kinda has the same vibes as when the boss's secretary takes a vacation, and they're one who actually gets shit done and everything falls apart when they're gone lol. Like having uneven teams for RW last week. Changing criteria this week. Idk what they're doing aside from throwing everything at the wall to see what'll stick.
I liked this challenge but part of me wishes that they had given the contestants an hour or two of non-competitive lab time to taste, touch, smell, and cook a little bit with the ingredients. Since many of these items were brand new to them (to the point where one of them looking at the list of ingredients that would be available to them the next day asked what something was because they’d never heard of it before). I’m guessing this wasn’t an option since the producers were probably hoping that being unfamiliar to them would result in a few disasters in the kitchen.
This episode brought up a good point about the lack of Indigenous/NA restaurants in this country. I’m in NYC and was surprised there wasn’t even one restaurant.
Loved this challenge and the whiplash I had with Savannah’s because she really took a chance, her dish ended up not what she thought it’d be (and honestly, even after her final plating it didn’t look promising) but she nailed it!
Was glad Michelle stayed. I liked the idea of Laura’s dish and wanted to try it but I guess maybe not lol. Was sad about Amanda because I enjoyed her presence.
I feel for Dan with every episode but he keeps delivering 👏
Literally paused when Kristin started talking about Milwaukee, and my husband and I looked at each other without saying a word bc we were both thinking of this!
I'm happy Michelle is still in this! Dan and Danny are ones to watch out for. And it feels to me like Manny has gotten more chances than everyone else. With the judges comments I expected him to be bottom three.
