I truly love the dichotomy we are in: this is either his masterpiece or an unmitigated disaster. like I can't see a world where it's just "fine"

This trailer reminds me of the feelings I had watching the watchmen trailer for the first time, a bit of awe and excitement and initial thought of 'wow this is going to be amazing', but considering I know how watchmen ended playing out this is balance with a healthy dose of 'wow this is going to be pretty but potentially a mess of a story!'

Adam Driver looks alarmingly like Ciaran Hinds with that haircut, yeesh.

I kinda love that weird all-greenscreen retrofuture style - too polished and not quite real, kinda like it might have been AI generated. (Except Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow had the same look going for it long before AI generation was a thing. This looks like the halfway point between Sky Captain and Moulin Rouge!) Plus I love Nathalie Emmanuel so I'll give this a shot.
