Surprised no one name dropped a Richard Curtis romcom. The Idea of You felt spiritually aligned with Notting Hill.

I mean, I don't think it's as enjoyable as Notting Hill, but the theme of famous person + ordinary person, with one from the US and one from the UK, naturally made me think of NH, lol

Notting Hill is super charming and it's genuinely romantic, well written and had actors with great chemistry.
Nothing of the sort can be said for this movie. I wanted to like it but I found it so bad. The plot was rushed, the dialogue was generic and the actors (other than Anne trying her best) were just there. She did look hot though.

I actually low key loved “The Idea of You”. And I was previously rolling my eyes at it. And it’s better than Fall Guy (just springs to mind because I watched it last weekend and was so disappointed)
