I feel like the signs have all been pointing here for a while now. I hope we get solid confirmation of a second season that continues Toranaga's story soon. Shogun will probably do well in the drama series category, considering who the competition is.

Glad Hiroyuki's (probably) getting to continue with this role. He really seems to have put his heart and soul into it.

Still haven't watched this show, but I really like him! Remember when they completely wasted his and John Hawkes' talents on Lost? Like they were just randos at the temple thingy? That was annoying.

s2 would almost certainly introduce several new equally interesting characters for toranaga to interact with and it would probably be even more heavy on the political intrigue as i assume the season would deal with the aftermath of the battle of sekigahara and setting up edo as the new power centre/capital.

I really liked his scene with Gin, the owner of the tea house. I was hoping there would be more with them but then they just kind of went their separate ways

He's terrific and it was an S-tier series but it ultimately didn't work for me.

It was Great Gowns Beautiful Gowns to me.
