In the first Despicable Me movie in seven years, Gru, the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League-agent, returns for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem in Illumination’s Despicable Me 4.
It cracks me up how much Boomers love the minions. More than one grown adult at work has had minion themed stuff in their email profile/signature. Like we're a public health organization and these people have to send serious emails to people outside our work lol. I've also seen more than one inflatable holiday minion in the rich old people neighborhood I like to take my walks in - there are no signs of children at these homes, just old people who love those little yellow dudes.
The first one was sweet but subsequent ones seem to be lacking the heart of the original, like most DreamWorks sequels (NOT Shrek 2 though, but the rest).
It depends on the inflatable for me - I'll admit I love inflatable snow globes, or snowmen, or pumpkins. I can also appreciate a home that fully leans into the tackiness of a yard full of inflatables, since Christmas and Halloween are both pretty cheesy. Unrelated characters I'm more meh about (100% cool with seasonal Snoopies, etc. though).
The trend I hate is around me everyone started getting these really lifelike mannequins to decorate for Halloween and they scare the beejezus out of me on solo evening walks 😱
